The relationship in one paragraph

AEGIS is a commercial content-classification engine made available to ParentProof.org at no cost under a disclosed agreement. The contribution is treated as a non-cash funding source with fair-value disclosed in the annual report. The partnership is contractual, summarized publicly, reviewed annually by the Board, and reversible.

Governance terms (verbatim, unredacted)

The full partnership agreement contains commercial terms (price, license scope, etc.) that are redacted in the public summary. The governance terms below are unredacted and are the parts that matter for independence:

• The technology provider has no board seat at ParentProof.org.
• The technology provider has no role in selecting board members, the Executive Director, council members, or advisory committee members.
• The technology provider has no access to community member identity, individual review text, donor data, or council deliberations before publication.
• The technology provider cannot set, suggest, or influence the rating of any listing. The community council can and does override AEGIS classification on appeal.
• The partnership is reviewed annually by the Board against an independence checklist published in the annual report.
• Either party may terminate the partnership with 90 days' notice. ParentProof retains the right to keep using AEGIS classification in its public archive after termination, in accordance with the licensing terms in effect at the time.
