Foundation grants.

Grants from foundations focused on children, education, and media. Every grant is listed with its terms attached; restricted grants are accepted only if the restriction is content-neutral.

What this source contributes

Foundation grants underwrite specific programs (the alerts system, the council process, the eleven coverage categories) without restricting the listing decisions inside any program. Grants are typically multi-year and renewable.

Rule

Grants must not condition deliverables on listing outcomes. A foundation may underwrite the educational-sites coverage category; it may not underwrite a specific listing's rating. The Executive Director screens proposals; the Board approves grants over a disclosed threshold.
