Eligibility
- Active reviewer (any of the eleven coverage categories).
- In good standing for at least 6 months at the time of nomination.
- Willing to commit roughly 6 to 8 hours per month for case work plus the monthly meeting.
- Willing to disclose conflicts of interest publicly.
How nominations work
- Open period. Nominations open in the fall for the following calendar year.
- Self- or peer-nomination. Either is fine. Peer-nominated candidates must accept.
- Eligibility verification. The Community Director confirms reviewer status and good-standing.
- Public bios. Candidates publish a short bio and statement of intent.
- Election. Active reviewers vote; results published.
- Onboarding. Elected members complete a brief governance orientation before their term starts.
Council member responsibilities
- Attend the monthly council meeting (open to public observers).
- Investigate cases assigned by rotation; write independent findings.
- Vote on the record; record dissents publicly.
- Maintain reviewer activity in good standing for the duration of the term.
- Recuse from cases involving conflicts of interest.
